Echo House Painting is a family-owned painting contractor based in Norwood, Massachusetts, serving homeowners and businesses throughout the Greater Boston area. What started as a small operation focused on residential repaints in Norwood has grown into a full-service painting company handling interior painting, exterior painting, cabinet refinishing, deck staining, wallpaper removal, and window glazing. Throughout that growth, the way we approach each project has stayed the same: protect the home, prep the surfaces properly, and use materials that hold up to New England weather and daily life.
Our crew is based in Massachusetts and knows the regional realities that affect paint work here — freeze-thaw cycles, coastal salt air on the South Shore, humid summers that promote mildew on shaded exteriors, and lead paint considerations on pre-1978 homes. Meet Vitalie Mahari, Founder
Echo House Painting was founded by Vitalie Mahari, a hands-on contractor with over 15 years of experience painting homes in the Boston area. Vitalie started in the trade as a residential painter, learned the business from the ground up, and built Echo House Painting around a simple principle: deliver the kind of work he would want done in his own home.
Today, Vitalie still oversees every project personally. Whether the job is a single-room interior repaint or a full exterior project, he is on-site to walk through scope with the homeowner, brief the crew on prep priorities, and inspect the final result before invoicing. That direct involvement is part of why customers trust us with their homes.

Prep Work Defines Durability
Most paint failures we see on Boston-area homes are not because of cheap paint — they are because of rushed preparation. The best paint in the world will peel off unprepared wood within 18 months. We invest the time in cleaning, sanding, scraping, caulking, and priming before any topcoat goes on. That is the difference between a paint job that lasts 4 years and one that lasts 8 to 10.

We provide detailed written estimates that break down labor, materials, prep work, and any carpentry repairs separately. No hidden fees. No surprise change orders. If something unexpected comes up mid-project, we stop, document it with photos, and discuss the cost with the homeowner before proceeding.
Respect for the Property
We treat every home like our own. That means drop cloths on every floor, plastic on every fixture, dust containment on every interior project, and a thorough cleanup at the end of every workday. Homeowners can stay in their home during interior projects without dealing with a construction zone.
Honest Communication
If a paint color you have selected will not work well in your space, we will tell you. If your existing siding has rot that needs carpentry repair before painting, we will document it and offer the repair as a separate line item. Surprises are the enemy of trust, and trust is the foundation of how we do business.

Echo House Painting is fully licensed and insured in Massachusetts. We carry general liability insurance and workers’ compensation coverage, which protects both our team and our clients on every project.
For homes built before 1978, federal law requires EPA Lead-Safe certification (RRP). Our team holds this certification and follows strict containment, documentation, and disposal protocols on lead paint projects — critical for older neighborhoods like Dorchester, Roxbury, Jamaica Plain, and South Boston.
We also maintain manufacturer certifications with leading paint brands, giving us access to professional-grade products and technical support that standard retail paints do not include.

Incredibly positive experience! Vitalie and his crew were great! The job was done 2 days ahead of schedule, because he made an effort to start on a Friday and work Saturday also. They did an extremely large job for us that took about 130 hours, and they did it at a great price. He needs to raise his prices by 10-20%, now that my job is done lol. I can’t say enough, next job goes to him even if he raises his prices. His communication was great also, I could go on and on. I have been disappointed by several contractors in the past but certainly not with Echo house painting. Hire them!

They did a really good job for a very reasonable price. The completed all work when the said they would, and they were polite and quiet. When all the work was done and they had been paid in full, I noticed one little corner of the floor molding coming loose I called them to ask what kind of glue they used. I was such a small thing I could fix it myself but they sent someone over right away to fix it. Honestly, if I could give more than 5 stars, I would.

I feel lucky to have found EchoHouse Painting for my complete exterior job. Vitali and his team painted everything from my gutters, to my metal bulkhead, all trim and cedar plank siding. Prior paint job was 8-10 years old so there was a significant amount of prep work to do. They handled extensive carpentry repairs replacing some trim boards, window sills, siding, fascia boards, etc. Also meticulously caulked, filled and smoothed out all gaps and rough spots. Echohouse used all top quality paints (Benjamin Moore) and were extremely detailed. I am very picky about the work that gets done at my house and I can say I was able to relax after seeing the amount of work being put into the job. Communications were A+ and everyone on the job was respectful and left everything clean and tidy at the end of every day. If you are considering doing ANY interior or exterior job, these are they guys. You will be glad to have contracted Vitali and his crew. Incredible transformation for my house!!

We had Vitalie and his team come and paint the exterior of our house and detached garage. We also needed a bunch of light carpentry work done on our wooden siding. Echohouse Painting did a fantastic job painting my kitchen and vestibule. I called several painters in my area. Echo reached out to me first, next day. They were very professional in all aspects of the project, and took great care in their work. I was extremely pleased that they were able to complete the job in one day.

We had our vinyl exterior painted by Echo House painting recently and we are so happy! We got numerous quotes and the price was very reasonable.Vitalie was very knowledgeable about vinyl exterior paint and what paints and colors to use. Vinyl can warp or buckle once painted if you use the wrong paint, etc… He contacted Benjamin Moore to confirm paints/colors as well which was sealed the deal with choosing Echo. The crew were very prompt, provided samples, and the communication was great throughout the whole process. We are very happy we used them and highly recommend them. I am having some other construction on my roof - but I will be posting some before/after photos once that is done. I’ve added some before and after photos.

EchoHousePainting was phenomenal. There pricing was very fair. Their prep work was great and the site was always clean. They did an outstanding job on the over 8 rooms that were painted. Vitalie painted the entire first floor of our house (baseboards, walls, and ceilings). High quality work, extremely quick turnaround, always asked thoughtful questions and had helpful suggestions when we weren't sure what to do. Couldn't be happier with the results!

Vitalie and team were awesome! They were prompt, arrived early, were very careful protecting floors and preparing the spaces. I also really appreciated their attention to detail… and the patience they had with my dog who divided her time between barking at & then running away from them all 3 days they were here 🙃. Extremely happy with the work done by Echohousepainting. Vitalie was a pleasure to deal with starting from getting the quote all the way through making sure I was happy with the final job, and the gentleman who painted our chimney was very friendly and professional and the work he did was outstanding! He paid attention to detail, ensured everything was taken care of, and when he was done you would never have known he was there. Before leaving he asked me to look at it to see if I had any issues or questions that he could take care of before leaving. Would definitely use them again.

Very professional painters, finished three rooms in a day with a crew of three. Very neat and protected all furniture and carpeting. I would definitely highly recommend them and would use them again on future painting projects.

My project was small, exterior foundation, cement staircase, wood entrance with overhang. There was a lot of preparation that had to be done, sanding power washing, etc. I am so pleased with the finished project. The painters were professional, polite and very hard working. I am a very satisfied customer and highly recommend this company for home projects.

Vitalie and his excellent crew are true professionals and work very hard to produce the best results possible. They are knowledgeable about their craft and work very diligently. Kudos to Julian and Diego for spending hours on end to completely sand and stain our deck. It was a tough job but they persevered. We are very happy with the results! Vitalie is very engaging, considerate, patient and always kept us informed. He is willing to take chances and go the extra mile. Guys checked all the marks here - good quality. good value, professional, responsive and 100% on time. Job turned out to be a bit more complicated - there was a water leakage and plywood behind the siding had to be replaced. Everything was done very thorough;y and accurately. 100% satisfied with this job. Would definitely hire them again and strongly recommend them!

A positive experience with great communication from beginning to end. Quick to respond, quick estimate, sooner start and finish than expected (they did my basement job on rainy days). Vitalie and his crew did an absolutely fabulous job restoring windows, doors and painting the entire exterior of our house. They unjammed, unstuck the old windows, reglazed, did an enormous amount of carpentry and painted the whole house. They were extremely professional, polite and we never felt we had strangers all over our house.They cleaned up each day and left everything immaculate for us and stuck to the budget. I would highly recommend Echohouse for anyone looking to get a paint job in their house.
